People who know about my previous podcasting experience will remember my colleague who was extremely skilled in the ways of pop culture, Orenthal Hawkins. Well, if you're a fan of Hawk and that wacky brain of his, you'll be happy to know that today he officially unveiled his new blog offering "Unique/Eclectic Pop Culture & Perspective." The blog is called Multimedium Rare, and you can check it out now and get in on the ground floor! I'm honored to have Be A Better Booktalker listed as one of his recommended websites, right next to Cracked.com — clearly I'm in very good company!
In other news, next week I'll be going as a guest of a Friend With Connections to a press screening of the new movie Hugo (Ooh! Lucky!!!) This will be in preparation for recording an episode of the Cinefantastique podcast next weekend discussing the movie. I'll be joining the CFQ crew to offer my usual literary perspective. And ... uhm ... female perspective? Comic relief? The episode should be released the week after Thanksgiving — you can listen to it on the Cinefantastique website, or check it out on iTunes. Oh, and just so you know, they let me off the hook for the Twilight: Breaking Dawn discussion, so I didn't end up having to spend many hours (and many brain cells) reading and watching the entire Twilight series.
